I believe I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ever read by Linda Lael Miller and this is a good one. All of her books have complex characters and interesting stories.
A Wanted Man takes place in 1905 in the Arizona territory. Schoolmarm Lark Morgan and Marshal Rowdy Rhodes both have secrets they don’t want to share. Lark's interest in Rowdy Rhodes (obviously an alias) stems from her fear that he was sent to find her. They both eventually have to trust each other with their secrets to help themselves and each other.
This book has interesting family dynamics and exciting train robberies. Rowdy’s younger brother, Gideon, is growing up and learning about life and being a man. Pardner, Rowdy's dog, definitely is man's best friend. Miller does an excellent job in describing frontier life, its hardships, and the social dynamics in a frontier town. I found this book to be exciting and I hope you like it too.
But why is it that every book where the main character’s name is Lark, she is known for her singing?
