Sarah Tucker used to have the ability to find people and things. Her father tried to capitalize on this and was verbally abusive. At the age of 18, Sarah runs away from home to escape the town that doesn’t want anything to do with her but to use her for her talent. She comes home 12 years later, after her father’s death, to help her Mother and younger sister, who is now 18 and pregnant by a guy who is quickly losing control of his life to his drug addiction. The town’s people still want nothing to do with her except the desperate people who want her help. Luke lives next door with his 2 year old son that Sarah’s mother watches while he is at work as police officer. Luke’s first priority has to be his son. Sarah is afraid of getting close to anyone and quickly decides that even though she is attracted to Luke she cannot do anything because she cannot live in this town permanently and subject him and his son to the town’s negative view of her.
Meanwhile, Sarah is taking care of her Mother while she recuperates from a fall and tries to find her sister and help her out. Her sister’s drug addicted boyfriend causes problems that she needs Luke’s help with.
This is a good book about family reconnecting and being able to deal with the past to create a future. Sarah and her family make the town learn that she is a good person and that they don’t need to be afraid of her.
Until next time!!!!!!!!
